About

I'm Jason Karsh, Chief Marketing Officer at the Stellar Development Foundation, where I lead global marketing for one of the largest blockchain networks in the world. Stellar is a layer 1 blockchain that, for over a decade, has focused on growing access to everyday financial services—whether helping financial institutions with their stablecoin strategy or enabling access to the global economy to anyone with a cell phone and an internet connection.
Before Stellar, I was a business lead for Block's bitcoin hardware products and served as CMO at Blockchain.com, where we grew self-custody wallets from 20 million to nearly 100 million. I was an early marketing leader at Coinbase, helped build the marketing team and brand at eero (acquired by Amazon), and cut my teeth on tech product marketing at Google.
I've spent over eight years working full-time in crypto. My operating belief is simple: who controls the story, controls the world. Brands are built on promises kept, not promises made. And the best marketing starts with the user, not the technology.
Before tech, I worked on the Obama campaign and studied history in college, where I wrote my thesis on the Opium War and the British East India Company—which probably explains my fixation on how narratives shape markets.
This site is where I write about strategy, technology, marketing, and whatever else I find interesting. It's infrequent and always honest.
